In this episode, Peggy highlights some of her takeaways from the movie, Inside Out 2, viewed through the lens of her experience as a mom to 5 girls and as a mental health therapist. She also gives her reasons why this movie about changes in girls as they enter puberty mirrors some perimenopause symptoms for women
later in life.
Inside Out 2 is a great movie about the various feelings we have and what goes on in the mind as we experience those feelings. Sometimes it may feel like we are hijacked by our emotions and feelings, that we have no control over them, but we do.
Some main points about the movie include:
Our memories make beliefs.
Our bodies and minds store everything that happens to us.
You create the meaning of your experiences.
Every emotion / feeling is good for you.
Your imagination can work for you or against you.
Listen as Peggy gives reason this movie is not only about the changes in mood for girls going through puberty, but also women going through perimenopause.

In this episode, Marnie talks about how life is a journey, how we all need to find and listen to our inner voice, develop a clear vision of what we want and where we want to go by asking ourselves questions and doing things that scare us.
Marnie is an entrepreneur, certified health coach, podcaster and author. Marnie helps busy women and teens implement personalized, gradual and sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes to create a happier and healthier life.
Marnie suggests having two journals to help tune into and find our inner voice. One is a brain dump journal where you just write down your stream of consciousness. The other journal can be more prompted, writing down what you are grateful for, what you desire, diving deeper into your thoughts and feelings, and even used to retrain your brain. This exercise can bring out different aspects of yourself.

You most likely have heard the term, work-life balance, but have you heard of work-life harmony? I saw this term in a book I’m reading. I hadn’t heard this term before and it piqued my interest.
In this episode, I share a little more about the difference between work-life balance and work-life harmony and why I think we all should strive for more harmony in our lives.
Work-Life Balance insinuates a struggle to keep various aspects of our life in equilibrium. It is often focused on time, managing it, scheduling equal time for various aspects of our life.
Work-Life Harmony is more about designing an intentional life that aligns with your values and what is most important to you. It has a sense of flow, meaning and purpose to it. Work-Life Harmony is focused on the energy of why you do what you do.
Also included in this episode are benefits that work-life harmony can have for you and ways you can start to improve your work-life harmony.

In this episode, Bronwyn Schweigerdt, anger expert, helps to unpack anger, what it really is, and how to release yourself from its hold in your mind and body.
Bronwyn discusses how anger is real but it is a secondary emotion, so it is really important to look within to find the true emotion felt that is coming out as anger. Anger is not bad. No emotion is bad. Emotions are messages trying to get your attention to look within to what we really need.
She believes there is no such thing as an angry person. It is stigmatizing and labeling a person that does not allow them to be anything else.
Anger management doesn't work. It is just treating a symptom and not looking underneath or within to why a person is angry in the first place. Understand and heal the root cause and there will be no anger.
Bronwyn gives examples of integrative exercises that can help you unpack the anger you hold inside and give it back to the rightful owner.

Have you ever been stuck in a negative mood? I have more than I'd like to admit.
In today’s episode, I will share with you 10 things that I ask myself that provide clues into the way I am thinking, feeling, behaving and showing up for myself and to the world around me.
It starts with awareness, asking ourselves a few questions and deciding to do something different.
10 things to ask yourself about when you are in a bad mood:
1. Schedule
2. Sleep
3. Exercise
4. Food Intake
5. Thoughts
6. Body Feeling
7. Expectations
8. Communication
9. Focus
10. Tasks
We all have bad days once in awhile. When they start becoming a string of days, it’s time to take a step back, ask ourselves some questions, and gain a little insight. Then from our answers, we can choose differently. We can choose to take a break, get a little more rest, move our body, fuel ourselves with nutritious food, show appreciation for the moment, be grateful, have a conversation with a loved one, express our thoughts and needs, tackle a project you have been wanting to do, or take a pause to breathe in life for a moment.

This is a summary of Dr. Tom Ingegno's, The Cupping Book. I received this book and cups as a gift for having Dr. Tom on my podcast in August (see Episode on August 16th).
