Overcoming Anxiety with Charles Perry

-Meeting others where they are at (or yourself)
-Acknowledge where they or you are struggling and that it is causing a problem or issue
-Acknowledge your feelings and thoughts
-Take accountability for your thoughts and actions
-Realize feelings are not facts

How to lessen anxiety or depression:
-Focus on how you feel, not your thoughts.
-Feel the uncomfortableness of the emotion and let it pass
-Accept that your thoughts can happen, but most the time they won't or they won't be as bad as you think.
-Talk to yourself the way you talk to a friend. Be kind to yourself.
-Be reasonable with your expectations.
-Get out and socialize through recreational activities that encourage interaction
