Ever felt like your eating was out of control? That you couldn't stop? Have you ever eaten out of stress, frustration or overwhelm?
In this episode, Nadege (Nan) Saysana dives into the deeper reasons behind emotional eating and yo-yo dieting—and how our thoughts play a powerful role in shaping our habits.
Using the analogy of a rubber band, she share how being overly restrictive with food often leads to bingeing, not because of lack of willpower, but due to stress, frustration, and exhaustion.
Nan breaks down the idea that thoughts lead to emotions, which drive our actions—and that by becoming aware of our thoughts, we can shift our emotional responses and make better choices. You'll learn how to create a "menu of thoughts" to choose from each day, and how your mindset directly influences the kind of food you reach for.
Key takeaways:
Food is often used to mask emotional pain.
You can choose your thoughts—and that choice gives you power.
Don’t believe every thought; they aren’t always facts.
Focus on who you want to become and gather evidence to support that vision.
Learn from failures without blame or shame.
Replace being furious with being curious—and keep moving forward.
This episode is all about taking back your power with awareness, curiosity, and compassion—starting exactly where you are.

In today's episode, Martyn Williams, Transformational Teacher, Enlightening Life Coach and world record-holding expedition leader, shares how to make small shifts in your body chemistry, thoughts, and emotions so that you can live a life of joy, happiness, peace and creativity.
Notable points in the conversation:
It's important to discover your own unique niche, passion, inspiration by following what you are enthusiastic about.
When fear sets in, focus on and visualize the end result. Build up your enthusiasm for your dream, remember your why, acknowledge the fear, reduce your physical response and take action.
Use tools such as breathing, changing your perspective, giving encouragement to others, reframing, moving, changing your focus to make small shifts in your thoughts and feelings in order to respond better and to handle bigger situations better.
The more life experiences we have, the better we are able to handle them, to increase your emotional intelligence or emotional resilience.

Years ago, when putting on a 12-week Wellness class this was the question I asked with a photo of a well-stocked open fridge and the caption that said, “What you're looking for is not in here."
This episode is not about physical hunger. This episode is about what you are really looking or hungry for. If it's not food then what are we really hungry for?
Mother Teresa said, "There is a terrible hunger for love." So, we can be hungry for love. We can also be emotionally and spiritually hungry, or we can hunger for knowledge, truth, justice, peace, and for meaning and purpose.
One of Les Brown's famous quotes is, “If you want to do anything worthwhile in life, you got to be HUNGRY!”
Discovering of what you are really hungry for requires lots of reflection, journaling, looking within, and is often spiritual in nature.

Flying can be a stressful experience, especially if it’s your first time. There are so many things to worry about – Will I get there early enough to get through security on time? Will my luggage make it on the plane and transfer to my final destination? Will I be squished between people I don’t know? What if there is a delay will I make my connecting flight? How far will I have to walk to get to my next flight? Will I have time?
Between deciding what to pack, long security lines, boarding the plane, finding your seat, and everything else you think about, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Oh, and more so when you are traveling with your spouse and/or kids. This just amplifies the stress.
Today I’m going to share with you 10 tips when flying.

2) Pack Smart
3) Fly Carry-On Only
4) Dress Comfortably
5) Stay Hydrated
6) Bring Snacks
7) Bring Entertainment

As the chill of winter fades away, and the temperatures rise, something magical happens— nature undergoes a beautiful transformation signaling the return of life and vitality. Spring is arriving! This season of renewal, rebirth, and vibrant growth holds a unique power to inspire new beginnings in all of us. Much like nature’s awakening from a long slumber, spring offers us the perfect opportunity to embrace change, shed what no longer serves us, and step into a fresh start.
In this episode, I’m using the metaphor of spring to relate new beginnings to our own lives. Just as the earth shakes off the remnants of winter, sprouting new life in the form of flowers, trees, and greenery, we too can view spring as a metaphor for our own new beginnings. It’s a reminder that, no matter what we’ve been through, we always have the chance to reinvent ourselves, start fresh, and grow in ways we never thought possible.
Here are 5 ways Spring aligns with new beginnings and to us.
1. Nature’s Reawakening
2. Fresh Starts and Possibilities
3. Renewal and Growth
4. Clearing Out the Old
5. Hope and Optimism
Remember, every ending is a new beginning in disguise. The next chapter of your life is waiting for you to write it. Take a deep breath and step forward into this season of renewal. Ask yourself: What new beginning can I embrace today? Whether it’s a small change or a major leap, spring is the perfect time to take that step. After all, just as the earth is constantly evolving, so too are you. The journey is yours to shape—so go ahead, bloom.
